Our history
Our guesthouse is one of the oldest and most historic buildings in Göstling.
As early as 1305 it was mentioned as an official residence, together with the Grießhaus and the Kirchau farm under the name “Currit aum Aw”.
In 1437 it was mentioned as “das haus pey der chirichen” and in 1558 as “Leithauß bey der Kirchn” (Leithauß = guesthouse).
At that time, prominent figures, archdukes and counts stayed here. The Walcher, Reichenpfader and Kirschner families were particularly important for the Goldener Hirschen.
Hans Kirschner acquired the property in 1929 and completely rebuilt it. It was considered one of the most modern in the district with running hot and cold water! In 1965, Hans Kirschner sold the hotel to his nephew, master builder Ing. Fritz Hausl from Tulln.
In 1978, his son Hans Hausl and his wife Notburga (née Zettel) took over.
In 1997, the foundation stone for the continuation of the traditional “Goldener Hirsch” was laid with Hausl GmbH.
